I heart raspberries

If you could see my raspberry patch right now, I'm pretty sure you would be jealous.
This has been by far the most productive year to date, all that rain and now some lovely Okanagan sunshine.

I've been picking a bucket or two every day for the last week and now my freezer runeth over. Not complaining, but I really should invest in another deep freeze....just for raspberries.
I made jam last week with fresh berries straight from the field and had some yummy results.

Raspberry Habanero, just like strawberry habanero, mild enough to highlight the berry flavour but warm enough to make your mouth tingle.

Raspberry Ginger,  little chunks of candied ginger floating about in a sweet raspberry jam.

Raspberry Cacao Nib, my latest crush, cacao nibs. Raw, unprocessed chocolate nibs, crushed into teensie pieces and stirred through the jam in the final stage of jamming.

I'm always searching for new flavours, if you have suggestions or a crazy jam flavour you'd like to see turned into a reality and spread on your toast......drop me a line.
I can make it happen!!!

I will be posting a list of what's available in KylieJayne's Pantry for those of you interested in purchasing my jam.

Happy long weekend y'all!!!

Looks can be decieving.

I've been having a great time in my kitchen with some success and failures.

My hubby had a great suggestion for watermelon jelly, so I got the gears churning and jumped into action....oh boy do I get excited at the prospect of a fun new flavours.
Watermelon jelly looked fantastic, however, did not set. Was it ever runny...oh well, watermelon cordial for the Simpson kids for a while. I will not give up the challenge, another attempt is just around the corner.

As for success stories, the Strawberry Habanero is proving to be a favourite in these parts.
I've heard it pairs well with cream cheese or brie and crackers.

Another recent discovery, strawberry habanero warmed up and drizzled over vanilla ice cream.
It gets the double thumbs up from the hubby. I'm off to the store to buy more ice cream!!!

How do you enjoy your jams or jellies?
